Farm & Ranch Tours In July

FRIDAY 7/5 • SATURDAY 7/6 @ Wilson Legacy Farms

FRIDAY 7/12 • SATURDAY 7/13 @ Fozzie’s Farm

Farming & Ranching is the story of the West. Everyone who has settled here — from the ancient Puebloan peoples, to the Utes & Navajos; from the Spanish missionaries to the American settlers — has farmed. On this tour you will learn how agriculture defined and created the Colorado frontier.

About Wilson Legacy Farms

The Wilson family homesteaded the original 160 acres that is now Wilson Legacy Farms in 1911.  Situated in the small community of Pleasant View, the mountain ranges visible from the farm create a beautiful backdrop around an agricultural basin.

With appreciation for the past, Wilson Legacy Farms is now focusing on enhancing conservation practices and experimenting with new technology. Recently Wilson Legacy Farms teamed up with the National Resource Conservation Service district and an irrigation company in Kansas by implementing drip irrigation on one of the center pivots, the first of its type in the area.  Wilson Legacy Farms is now also practicing crop rotations that promote soil health and resource conservation. Soil health is recognized on the farm as one of the most important resources to protect and improve.

The people behind Wilson Legacy Farms are true Coloradan farmers. They believe in honesty, integrity, hard work, and Christian-centered values to maintain a fully functioning, solely family-owned farm.
